Paravaulting
Paravaulting is a form of equestrian sport where individuals with disabilities perform gymnastics on horseback. The horse moves in a circle, led by a lunger in the center. This activity enhances balance, strength, and coordination while offering a therapeutic and enjoyable experience.
All athletes are divided into two main categories depending on the level of disability:
This sport is a competitive discipline consisting of two parts:
- Compulsory test and Free test
- Compulsory test includes 5 required exercises: basic seat, dove, mill, kneeling, dismount
- Free test consists of 10 exercises what athlete is able to perform
- Judges score each performance on a scale from 0-10 with the highest total score determining the winner
For paravaulting it is necessary specialized horses with vaulting or hipotherapy experience. They must go regulary and reliable. Horse is wearing vaulting pad, foam and surcingles.
